Something I learned that was shocking was egg plant. Its actually classified as a fruit. I thought it was always a vegetable. But yeah, cucumber and carrot being in the same category does not surprise me. It's funny, me and my family had a discussion about this a few weeks ago, it ended in us google-ing up what its "official" category is.
